DQ-ShotPut is a deck control module for SGI ShotMaker(TM). This product provides machine control and frame-accurate capture/laydown capability inside of ShotMaker.

When in record mode, the transport buttons control the tape deck and enable frame accurate captures. In playback mode, the dialog allows for frame accurate laydowns. You can shuttle the deck to a specific timecode by typing it into the current timecode display. When in playback (laydown) mode, the 'Monitor Deck' button can be used to toggle on/off monitoring of the tape deck. When the monitor is on, ShotMaker displays the contents of the tape. When it is off, ShotMaker displays the contents of the playlist/clip.

The 422 serial cable and RS232-RS422 SGI converter are available from Diaquest. Use of the software requires one serial port. SGI has tested ShotMaker deck control with the following HD tape decks: Panasonic AJ-HD2700 - Panasonic AJ-D580 - Sony HDW-500 HDCAM.

DQ-ShotPut software is available for $495.00 US and is provided via our ftp site. You will need to have your system ID number available so that a software key can be issued.

The serial cable and RS232-RS422 SGI converter are available for $120.00 US (shipping is additional). Please note: The software also works with the cable and converter provided with other SGI products by Diaquest: DQ-RealTime Recorder and DQ-TimeCoder SGI. If you have these products, you may already have the required cable and converter.
